Fires that burn

The smokey haze of the San Diego fires has made it northward and we again have sultry orange sunsets as a result. Fires in Santa Barbara in August and September left ash and soot on everything.
Life changes so quickly. A shift of the wind and a lifetime of memories are burned to the ground. Nature which one day is peacefully cloaked in color and beauty can another day turn frightening and deadly. What a somber reminder to Christians about how we are to live our lives!
For any other foundation can no one lay than the one being laid, who is Jesus Christ. And if anyone builds on this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble, each one's work shall be revealed. For the Day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try each one's work as to what kind it is. If any one's work which he built remains, he shall receive a reward. If any one's work shall be burned up, he shall suffer loss. But he shall be saved, yet so as by fire. 1 Corinthians3:11-15
As I pray for these families, businesses, firefighters, marines, and the many unsung heroes ( Those men and women that will rise to the occasion to help their fellow man but may never be recognized) my spirit has been quickened by the truth of this scripture.
Blessings,
